📜 Workshop Overview

The Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program (iTHEMS) at RIKEN and the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS) have continued to strengthen their collaborative relationship following the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding in December 2022. Building on the success of our previous joint workshops, we are pleased to announce the second NCTS-iTHEMS Joint Workshop, expanding our focus across both condensed matter physics and high energy physics, including quantum gravity.

This year’s workshop will feature plenary talks, invited presentations, and poster sessions, showcasing cutting-edge research and encouraging interdisciplinary exchange. The program is designed to foster deep discussions, spark new collaborations, and support the next generation of researchers through interactive sessions. While we strongly encourage in-person attendance to maximize engagement and collaborative opportunities, we will also provide an online platform for those who are unable to join us in person. We look forward to welcoming you to RIKEN for an exciting and inspiring meeting.

👥 Participants

The workshop welcomes scientists—including faculty members, research scientists, postdoctoral researchers, and students—from the RIKEN Interdisciplinary Theoretical and Mathematical Sciences Program (iTHEMS), the National Center for Theoretical Sciences (NCTS), the RIKEN Center for Emergent Matter Science (CEMS), the RIKEN Center for Quantum Computing (RQC), and other RIKEN centers. Scientists based in both Taiwan and Japan are warmly encouraged to join this collaborative event.

To foster active participation, students in Japan or Taiwan are expected to give a 100-second poster introduction talk and present a poster during the poster session in order to enjoy the workshop-provided lunches and banquet.

In contrast, faculty members, research scientists, and postdoctoral researchers are welcome to attend without any presentation requirement.
